How Adventure is Born

A few months ago, Louise and I were talking about the annual summer adventure for our growing brood. Obviously, summer vacation plans have been a challenge for us all as of late, but when Louise and I talked about the summer of 2021, we were immediately on the same page.

Lousie: So, I was thinking about our vacation this year, and I really want to go somewhere super hot.

Thelma: Agreed. Like maybe somewhere experiencing a record heat wave or something?

Louise: Yes! But add a ton of crowds and a tenuous A/C system and you’ve got a deal.

Thelma: Great. Let’s make sure we time it at the most inopportune moment. Like everyone is super busy with work, school, camps and sports so logistics are an absolute nightmare.

Louise: It’s like you’re reading my mind. Should we make sure gas prices are especially high and we’re on the precipice of another wave of the pandemic?

Thelma: Only if there’s a healthy dose teenage angst and maybe spotty Wi-Fi and a highly contagious mystery rash thrown in for good measure?

Louise: This is why we’re friends. I’m going to pack.

And so a portion of our motley crew departed this morning for a western adventure that only the Summer of 2021 could author. Look out, Oklahoma City, Amarillo, Santa Fe, Moab, and Denver–this is our #RandMcNallyGrandFinale.
