| | 'Twas the Night Before Christmas... |
|
| | 'Twas the night before Christmas and all through our house,
Every creature was stirring, especially my spouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that a wrench, AA batteries and an instructional DVD soon would be there.
The children were not even close to being snuggled in their beds,
While visions of "some assembly required" danced through our heads.
And I in my kerchief all set to wrap,
Knew it would be some time before we settled in for a long winter's nap.
When out from the garage there arose such a clatter,
I dropped my Friskars to see what was the matter.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear?
But my husband, an electric screwdriver and a six-pack of beer.
With a grumbling of curses so foul and so quick,
He looked at a set of Allen wrenches that must be a trick.
More rapid than eagles his curses they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;
"Now Dasher! Now Sky Dancer! Now XBox and that Barbie vixen!
The Legos! The ripstick! The mountain bike all need a fixin'!
Oh why must Santa choose the most complex toys of all?
What's wrong with a coloring book? A bat or a ball?"
A bundle of tools he had flung on his back,
And he looked like Bob Villa just opening his pack.
His eyes -- how they watered! his brow how wary!
He frowned and he scowled, and at no time looked merry.
The dollhouse assembled did not look like the one on the telly,
It shook in a light breeze like a bowlful of jelly.
Looking around, I knew we made lame elves,
And we had to laugh, in spite of ourselves.
A wink of his eye and a nod of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;
We spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
Still wishing we'd paid the extra cash for help from the clerk.
And fighting off the powerful urge to doze,
We finished the wrapping and assembling with the rooster's first crows.
We sprang to our sleigh bed before the alarm gave a whistle,
But before closing an eye, the kids started to rustle.
And we heard them exclaim as they came into sight,
"Santa sure does deliver but he needs help getting those screws in tight!"
Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night.

In my opinion, if all web owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the net will be much more useful than ever before.

I have co-treated patneits with many therapists in Sonoma County and have trained several therapists who have successful practices. The patneits whom I have co-treated with Traci all report that she understands them better than they thought anyone could, and that she has been a life-changing force in their lives. I see the wonderful outcomes of her treatment as I continue to provide ancillary services to some of her patneits. I recommend her as one of the finest therapists I've known. She really cares about her clients. Compassion and skill are a rare combination.
| | While visiting family and friends in Amman, Jordan last week after being away for over two years, I was constantly being asked about my observations on Amman, and whether it had changed since I was last there in October 2010.During the first couple of days, I would usually respond saying I noticed more traffic, and new construction here and there. A few days into my visit, things got clearer (I'm blaming the jetlag for my delayed observation). I noticed a change, a big one. Somehow, politically-divided Ammanites were united on one issue: Syrians.Last time I visited Jordan, the annoying term the "Arab Spring" was not even coined. So, fast forward two years, I would have expected to see change along these lines, but what I saw instead was not youth marching in the streets asking for reform (to the dismay of many D.C. think tanks), but rather Jordanian citizens who are increasingly becoming concerned about the influx of refugees from their war-ravaged next door neighbor.Citigroup was the megabank that received the most taxpayer assistance during the financial crisis, a fact perhaps related to the very same lobbying practices now being used to rein in regulation michael kors satchel

Now, despite its former status as the basket case of Wall Street, Citigroup and its hired guns are welcome on Capitol Hill, weighing in on and even drafting bills -- like one the House committee signed off on earlier this month, exempting several classes of derivatives from a rule intended to prevent government insurance from backstopping risky trades.I won't dispute for one second the problems of a system that demands immense amount of fund-raisers by its legislators," said Representative Jim Himes, a third-term Democrat of Connecticut, who supported the recent industry-backed bills and leads the party's fund-raising efforts in the House.
